Foul weather was the big winner Monday night in high school basketball action.

Monday’s girls action pitting New Brighton at Mohawk, Riverside at Laurel, Mercer at Wilmington, Central Valley at Ellwood City Lincoln and Shenango at Beaver Falls games have been postponed.

The Mercer-Wilmington game was rescheduled to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Wilmington. New Brighton will travel to Mohawk at 7 p.m. Friday, varsity only. Central Valley visits Ellwood City at noon Saturday and Riverside travels to Laurel for a 7 p.m. tip Jan. 15, varsity only.

The Shenango-Beaver Falls game wasn’t immediately rescheduled.

Today’s boys games involving New Castle at Shaler, Central Valley at Ellwood City, Shenango at Laurel, Mohawk at Beaver Falls, Neshannock at New Brighton, Union at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart and Wilmington at Reynolds have been postponed.

The New Castle-Shaler, Shenango-Laurel and Mohawk-Beaver Falls contests will be made up at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Laurel was originally scheduled to travel to Freedom at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. That game will be made up at a later date.

Union-OLSH and Neshannock-New Brighton will be made up at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. The Union game will be varsity only.

Central Valley will visit Ellwood City at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, varsity only. Wilmington travels to Reynolds at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 25.
