Mohawk (41) Vs. Union (38)
Jan 17, 2011
Union’s attempt at a last-second 3-pointer as time expired was off the mark and Mohawk hung on for the nonsection win.
Vince Menichino registered a steal and a layup for Mohawk (3-10) to tie the game at 38 with just under a minute left. The Scotties (0-12) missed a field goal and the Warriors’ Tim Glass sank a pair of foul shots with 35 seconds to go.
Union again missed a field goal and Lucas Grim split a pair of foul shots with 20 seconds remaining to close the scoring.
“When you’re kind of having a season like we’re having, it’s nice to get the win,” Warriors coach Kevin Wrona said. “The guys are playing hard for each other and it was good for their morale.”
Glass tallied a game-high 20 points with eight rebounds for the Warriors and Grim was next with seven markers and five assists.
Toryan Respress netted nine markers for Union.
