Patton’s accuracy lifts Neshannock girls
Neshannock (39) Vs. Mohawk (26)
Dec 17, 2007
Kylee Patton got comfortable at the foul line last night and that made Mohawk uneasy.

Patton converted 15 of 17 free throws as the Neshannock High girls basketball team claimed a 39-26 WPIAL Section 2-AA victory on the road.

“Patton has really elevated her game,” Lady Lancers’ coach Greg Huston said. “She’s playing tremendous right now. She was the difference.”

Patton, a senior forward, had 25 points as Neshannock improved to 4-0 in section play and 5-2 overall.

“We need to reevaluate our scoring and that falls on us as coaches,” Mohawk mentor Mike O’Lare said. “I take full responsibility for that and we’re going to look at how to get better.”

Neshannock was 19 of 29 at the foul line while Mohawk (1-2, 1-6) was just 9 of 20.

“Give Neshannock credit,” O’Lare said. “But when you struggle to score, you don’t give yourself a chance.”

Caitlyn Bleggi contributed eight markers for Neshannock while Alyssa Natale paced the Lady Warriors with eight points and Chelsea Brown followed with seven.
