Laurel boys fall to OLSH
Our Lady of Sacred Heart (60) Vs. Laurel (48)
Jan 04, 2011
Laurel struggled offensively in the game’s early moments and it proved costly in a nonsection loss to Our Lady of Sacred Heart.
The Spartans (3-6) turned the ball over 12 times for the game, but six of them came in the game’s first seven possessions. Laurel fell behind 18-7 after the first quarter because of the miscues.
“We got back into it a little later in the game but we couldn’t make up the first 11 points because of the turnovers,” Spartans coach Mike Tinstman said. “I’m not very happy with how we came out and played early on. There were some unforced turnovers and our shot selection was poor early.”
Chad Long paced the Spartans with 14 points and six assists. Ryan Melichar chipped in with eight markers and six rebounds.
Matt Sangermano led all scorers with 15 points for the Chargers (6-2).
