Mohawk girls' rally falls short
Rochester (33) Vs. Mohawk (31)
Dec 28, 2010
Mohawk High’s fourth-quarter comeback came up just short in a nonsection matchup with Rochester.
The Lady Warriors (2-5) missed a desperation halfcourt shot as time expired. They trailed, 24-17, entering the final frame, but outscored Rochester, 14-9, to make things interesting. Mohawk coach Mike O’Lare said it was the quarter before that really hurt the Lady Warriors.
“The third quarter killed us again,” said O’Lare, whose team was outscored 10-3 in the third quarter. “We have to find an answer for that. We worked in some sophomores tonight and we’re trying to find the right combination.”
Brooke Shasteen recorded team highs in points (nine) and rebounds (10) for Mohawk. Hayden Kimbrough led the Lady Rams (4-2) with 13 points.
