’Canes rally to crush Canevin
New Castle (72) Vs. Bishop Canevin (44)
Dec 23, 2010
A balanced offense led New Castle in the nonsection matchup.

Three different players scored in double figures for the Red Hurricane (4-2), who fought back from a 14-2 deficit early in the first quarter.

“We didn’t get out of the gate the way we wanted to,” New Castle coach Ralph Blundo said. “It was well below our standards of effort to start the game. But they responded and bounced back and played really well the next three and a half quarters.”

Corey Eggleston led the way with 18 points, 10 rebounds and six assists for New Castle. Brandon Domenick just missed a double-double with 12 points and nine assists, while Malik Hooker provided 14 points.

The ’Canes scored 22 points in the first quarter and never trailed again, outscoring Canevin, 50-26, in the final three frames.
