Cornell (61) Vs. Union (49)
Dec 17, 2010
Cornell outscored Union 16-8 in the second quarter en route to a Section 1-A victory.
The Lady Raiders (1-0, 1-1) forged a 30-20 halftime buffer courtesy of the second-quarter outburst.
“Cornell shot the ball really well in the second quarter,” Union coach Brian Fadden said. “They made their shots in the second quarter and we weren’t able to convert as much.
“I thought tonight was a positive step forward for us. We have to continue to take positive steps each day.”
Savannah Partridge poured in a team-high 30 points for the Lady Scots (0-1, 0-4), 23 of which came in the second half.
“Savannah played a real strong second half,” Fadden said. “She was aggressive.”
Karissa Lee netted a game-best 30 points for Cornell.
