Sewickley routs Union girls
Sewickley (70) Vs. Union (35)
Feb 17, 2010
Four players reached double digits to lead Sewickley Academy over Union in a WPIAL Section 1-A matchup.

Jackie Orr (15), Rachel Pregel (12), Melanie Trecha (11) and Reed Mango (10) helped the Lady Panthers (6-4, 9-7) jump out to a 20-8 lead in the first quarter and cruise to victory.

Union’s Savannah Partridge finished a stellar sophomore campaign by netting a game-high 20 points and nailing two 3-pointers.

“Savannah had a very good year,” Lady Scots coach Brian Fadden said. “She developed more into someone who can get to the hoop instead of someone shooting jump shots.”

Fadden, who finished his first year as Union’s coach, said his team’s 0-10 section and 1-17 overall records were disappointing, but the future is bright.

“We definitely showed signs of improvement,” Fadden said.
