Ellwood City fell apart in the third quarter and Mars took advantage to claim the win in the Don Graham Classic at North Catholic.
The Planets held a 38-33 halftime lead before outscoring the Wolverines 14-5 in the pivotal third stanza.
Cody Mittica netted 16 points to pace Ellwood City (7-15) , while Richard McKinney contributed 12 and Gino Ceriani tossed in 10.
Alex Locher led all scorers for Mars (12-6) with 29 points.
