The Lady Wolverines fell behind 17-4 in the first quarter in a Section 2-AAA defeat to Blackhawk.

Ellwood City Lincoln (0-3, 5-6) now has 98 straight section loses.

“I think we were a little intimidated by them early just because they were Blackhawk, I guess,” Lady Wolverines coach Bill Gottuso said. “We played hard the whole game.”

Michelle Nocera notched 13 points and nine rebounds for Ellwood City, which plays at New Castle on Thursday.

Michelle’s sister, Nicole, contributed eight points, six assists and five steals.

Alexa Hayward led Blackhawk (2-2, 8-4) with 15 points.
