Laurel built a 22-10 halftime advantage and cruised past Portersville Christian for a nonsection win.

“I thought we played great defense in the first half,” Lady Spartans coach Jenn McGarrah said. “I was very pleased with how we played tonight; I thought we played like a team.”

Becca Kerr led Laurel (5-5) with 17 points, nine rebounds, six steals and three blocks. Emily McKissick, Nicolette McCormick, Cassie Yough and Marisa Wallas tossed in eight markers each.

Mary McDonald recorded 10 points for Portersville Christian.
