Ellwood City’s Ashley Washington was the game’s high scorer with 23 points, but it wasn’t enough to keep Center from posting a 2-AAA win.

The Lady Trojans led 29-27 at the half before pulling away.

“We played a good first half, but we just ran out of gas,” Lady Wolverines coach Bill Gottuso said. “I’m not disappointed, we played hard.

“We’re getting there a little bit at a time.”

It was Ellwood City’s 77th straight section defeat.

Alexandra Capalbo followed Washington’s effort with 10 points for the Lady Wolverines (0-2, 2-3).

Shelby Parks and Caterina Graziano paced the Lady Trojans (1-1, 3-3) with 13 points each.
