Wilmington girls edge Farrell
Wilmington (48) Vs. Farrell (42)
Dec 23, 2009
Stephanie Kish netted 15 points to lead Wilmington to a District 10, nonregion win over Farrell.

“That was a real good win for us; that’s a tough environment at Farrell,” Lady Greyhounds coach Brian Turk said. “Our shooting is getting better and I’m happy with that.”

Wilmington (3-1) played without Haley Marett, who was out with an ankle injury. Turk is hoping to have her back in the lineup by next week’s Union Booster Tournament. Sophomore Mackenzie Hiers replaced Marett in the lineup and ran the point, netting five points.

“I thought she did a great job out there,” Turk said of Hiers.

Ashley Gardner chipped in with 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Lady Greyhounds, while Julie Burns contributed 10 markers and eight boards.

Farrell’s D’Asia Chambers, a St. Bonaventure recruit, led all scorers with 34 points, 24 of which came in the second half.
