'Growing pains' for Shenango

Ryan Chupak scored 17 points to lead the Big Reds to the consolation victory at the Neshannock Tournament.

West Middlesex raced to a 21-6 lead after the first and posted a 35-14 halftime lead.

Anthony Kosciuszko and Joe Colavecchia both led Shenango with seven points. Brett Chieze was named to the all-tournament team, while Brandon Kusnierz was named the scholar-athlete winner.

“We’re going to have a few growing pains. The kids are working hard,” Shenango coach Bob McQuiston said. “We saw some improvement from the first night. As long as we keep working hard, we’ll be OK.”
