The Bobcats improved their record to 4-1 overall with the Section 2-AAA opening victory.

Cory Diamond scored 18 points, and Manny Cutlip added 11 for Beaver.

Ellwood (0-1, 1-3) got 10 points apiece from Mike Sacco and Chris Weisz.


“We just seemed to come out and have a little bit of nerves,” first-year Wolverines coach Jason Bumblis said. “Other than Mike Sacco, this was the guys’ first section game at the varsity level.

“It just seemed that we came out tight and never got into a rhythm.”
