Jan 08, 2009
Union survived a poor foul shooting game by both teams in a Section 1-A victory over Monaca.
The Lady Scots (3-2, 4-8) were just 10 of 24 from the line, compared to 6 of 21 for the Lady Indians (0-4, 0-9).
“Foul shooting was a struggle for both teams,” Union coach Damian Cassano said. “We have to step up and hit them.”
Bridget Boyles and Savannah Partridge netted 13 points each for the Lady Scots, while Ashley Sankey added 10. Boyles also tallied eight rebounds and four steals.
“This was a good win for us to get our confidence back,” Cassano said. “We’re still in good shape in the section race.
“We have to gear up, we have some tough games coming up.”
Shannon Aurin led all scorers with 14 points for Monaca.
