Wilmington limited Neshannock to two field goals in the second half to seal a 38-27 nonsection victory.

“We played a lot better defense,” Lady Greyhounds coach Brian Turk said. “We’re still having our woes with shooting, but the defense was there tonight.”

One girl who wasn’t on the court last night was Neshannock’s Courtney Frengel, who sprained her ankle Monday night against Riverside.

“It’s not broke, so that’s good,” Neshannock coach Greg Huston said. “It’s hard to tell when she’ll be back. It could be a week and a half or maybe two weeks.”

Chelsea Kauffman picked up the slack and led Neshannock (6-7) with 11 points and Ericka Warvell had 11 rebounds to go with her eight points. Kauffman had three 3-pointers.

“Neshannock missing Frengel makes a big difference,” Turk said. “I feel for (Huston) and any coach who is missing a key starter.”

Haley Marett came off the bench to pace the Lady ’Hounds (4-6) with a game-high 12 points. Ashley Gardner followed with 10.

“It turned out to be a nice evening with a great crowd,” Turk said. “Hats off to Westminster College and our boosters. Hopefully, this turns out to be a pretty nice deal every year.”
