Mohawk can’t slow down Beaver
Beaver (52) Vs. Mohawk (32)
Jan 05, 2009
After trailing 21-8 in the first quarter, Mohawk tried to limit Beaver’s touches before the half.

The Lady Warriors held the ball for seven minutes and outscored the Lady Bobcats 2-0 in the second quarter of the Section 2-AA contest.

“We tried to eliminate a quarter and make it a three-quarter game,” Mohawk coach Mike O’Lare said. “The girls bought into the game plan, but we couldn’t get it done in the final quarter. We couldn’t overcome that 21-8 start they got.”

Alyssa Natale led Mohawk (2-2, 8-4) with 10 points.

Duquesne recruit Carly Vendemia scored a game-high 20 points for section leader Beaver (5-0, 12-0).
