Wilmington whips West Middlesex
Wilmington (57) Vs. West Middlesex (44)
Jan 03, 2009
Wilmington’s defense was solid in a District 10 nonregion victory over West Middlesex.

“I’m really pleased with how our defense played,” Greyhounds coach Will Harris said. “We gave up just 26 points in the first three quarters and that’s great to see.”

Ian Kelly paced Wilmington (5-3) with 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Anthony Derrick, a freshman, contributed 12 markers and six assists.

“They ran a triangle-and-two against us and it really held (Shane) Wagner and (Jake) DeMedal under their average.

“Derrick ran the point well and stepped up big for us. Derrick and Kelly both played well and helped win the game for us; I was pleased with their contributions.”

Kyle Allen led all scorers with 23 points for the Big Reds.
