Becca Kerr poured in 23 points and Kasie Brown chipped in with 10 markers to help the Lady Spartans break into the win column.

Laurel (1-7) jumped out to a 30-25 lead at the half and held on for the win in the Union Booster Tournament.

“We shot 27 percent from the field,” Wilmington coach Brian Turk said. “We just couldn’t get the ball in the hole. We also had 14 turnovers, but we’re really not shooting well at all.”

Haley Marett paced the Lady Greyhounds (2-4) with 16 points and Ashley Gardner added 10 markers.

The Lady Spartans will play Moniteau in the championship game at 6 p.m. today.
