The Union High girls basketball team built some momentum for section play on Saturday.
Bridget Boyles netted a game-high 19 points to lead the Lady Scots to a 58-29 victory over Portersville Christian in a nonsection matchup.
“This was a nice win, hopefully we can feed of it,” said first-year Union coach Damian Cassano.
Union is 1-0 in WPIAL Section 1-A action and will have two more nonsection contests before matching up with Western Beaver on Thursday.
Bridget Boyles paced the Lady Scots (2-2) with 19 points, while freshman Savannah Partridge chipped in with 17 markers, six rebounds and six steals.
Noelle Hannon pulled down a game-best 14 rebounds to go along with six points and four assists for the victors. Kaylin Clingensmith contributed seven points, four steals and four assists.
Whitney White tallied seven points to lead Portersville Christian.
