New Castle used a 33-0 run in the first half to cruise past Farrell in a nonsection contest.
Shelby Rodgers led a balanced attack for the Lady ’Canes (4-0) with 15 points and seven rebounds. She was 6 of 7 from the field, including 3 of 4 from behind the arc.
JaNia McPhatter notched 12 points, while LaShauna Brothers tallied 11 and Zynieckia Bester added 10.
New Castle outrebounded the Steelerettes, 47-15, and made 32 of 50 from the field.
“The kids played hard the whole game,” Lady ’Canes coach Luann Grybowski said. “It was a good win.”
Due to a scheduling mixup, the Lady ’Canes will not play Seneca Valley Monday, leaving Grybowski to search for an additional game.
D’Asia Chambers recorded 21 points for Farrell.
