Wilmington High boys basketball playoff hopes took a severe blow last night.
Reynolds built a 12-point lead after three quarters and made it stand up for a 63-51 District 10, Region 2-AA victory.
“It was a key game and we needed a win,” Greyhounds coach Will Harris said. “It’s kind of dim now.”
Wilmington (10-12 overall) fell to fourth place in the region at 7-7, behind the Raiders (8-6, 13-9).
The Greyhounds struggled from the field, making just 16 of 66, including 11 of 54 inside the arc.
“The game plan was to get it in the paint against Reynolds,” Harris said. “We got plenty of looks, but you can’t win games shooting like that.”
Shane Wagner led Wilmington with 14 points while Carson Sharbaugh and Dallas Hartman added 13 each. Sharbaugh also had 13 rebounds.
Chris Lafferty paced Reynolds with 17 points.
