The Lady Greyhound outscored the Ms. Reds 31-4 in the third quarter en route to earning a District 10, Region 1-AA/A matchup.
“The varsity really stepped it up there in the third period,” Wilmington first-year coach Brian Turk said. “That pretty much ended the game right there.”
The contest was actually close at the half, as the Lady ’Hounds (8-6, 11-10) owned a 28-24 lead at the half.
Leah Day supplied Wilmington with a double-double performance as she led all scorers with 20 points while grabbing a team-best 14 rebounds.
“Leah Day has played outstanding for us for the second straight game,” Turk said. “Her and Kara Kendall did a fantastic job down low and inside for us tonight.”
Kendall scored 12 points and got 13 rebounds. Janelle Fauzey netted 13 points, while Stephanie Kish and Brooke Buchowski added 11 apiece.
Heather Lathrop led West Middlesex (0-12, 3-17) with 11 points. Ashley David followed with 10 markers.
