Union finishes second in section play
Union (71) Vs. Western Beaver (55)
Feb 10, 2017
The Scotties used a strong start to close section play on a positive note.

Union built a 16-point lead at the half and cruised to a 71-55 Section 1-1A road win over the Golden Beavers.

Union (9-3, 16-5) also locked up second place outright in the section. But Scotties coach Mark Stanley noted his team will need to perform better once the postseason begins.

"We were a little sloppy," Stanley said. "We have to tighten some things up and we have to continue to get better."

Tre Charles netted a game-high 26 points and Dom Dudo delivered 18 tallies with a team-best 13 rebounds. Evan Pinkerton provided 13 markers and nine boards for the winners.

The Golden Beavers dropped to 2-10, 5-16.
