DeMedal leads Greyhounds to D-10 victory

Spencer DeMedal was firing on all cylinders Wednesday night.

The senior guard paced Wilmington with 22 points and six rebounds as the Greyhounds rolled past District 10, Region 2-2A host Mercer, 66-34.

DeMedal also hit two 3-pointers on the night as did teammates Reese Bender, Robert Pontius and Joey Pezzano. Daniel Hanssen also hit a triple and Wilmington (1-1, 4-5) finished with nine.

A 31-point second quarter helped the Greyhounds build an insurmountable 42-11 halftime lead.

Alex VanWoert scored nine points to lead the way for Mercer.
