Feb 08, 2016
Janna Conrad's field goal with four seconds left lifted the Lady Spartans to a 49-48 nonsection road win over the Lady Rams.
Olivia Whiteleather hit a 3-pointer with 20 seconds to go to put Rochester up 48-47. Laurel's Kristin Dicks dribbled the ball up the floor and the Lady Rams' defense swarmed around her. Dicks dished the ball off to Conrad, who calmly tossed in the winning field goal. It was Conrad's lone field goal of the contest, as she finished with four total points and five rebounds.
"It's a good way to end the season for us," Lady Spartans coach Jessica Shevitz said. "It's good to end on an up note. I'm really proud of my seniors.
"Dicks ends her career by sacrificing her body with a great pass. It was just a great finish."
Pontius provided 17 points for Laurel (9-13) and Dicks delivered 12 markers with five rebounds and four assists. Caroline Gibson garnered 10 points for the victors.
Maggie Whittington paced the Lady Rams (12-9) with 14 points.
