Karington Ketterer delivered for the Ellwood City Lincoln High girls basketball team Thursday night.

Ketterer collected a game-high 26 points lead the Lady Wolverines to a 49-34 WPIAL Section 2-AAA home win over New Castle.

Ketterer made seven field goals, but tossed in 12 of her 16 free-throw attempts for Ellwood City. She added a team-best seven rebounds as well.

Ketterer notched 10 of her points in the fourth quarter.

"She was very consistent," Lady Wolverines coach Jolene Krupa said. "Sometimes she has her up-and-down quarters. But she was very consistent.

"I thought she was aggressive going to the hoop and she made her free throws."

Ketterer, a senior, has 987 career points and will look to reach 1,000 career tallies in the season finale at Montour on Monday.

Emily Brown was next for the Lady Wolverines (6-8, 9-12) with nine markers, six rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Ellwood City has won three straight.

"That's a thing we've been telling them," Krupa said of the win streak. "Even though we didn't make the playoffs, we want to win our last four games, and so far we've got three of them."

Jaidyn Eggleston led the Lady 'Canes (4-10, 5-16) with 11 points.
