Feb 02, 2016
The Union High boys basketball team had a bad first quarter Tuesday night.
But the Scotties made up for it in the third.
Union (8-4, 11-9) kept its hold on third place in WPIAL Section 1-A with a 66-53 victory at Western Beaver.
The Scotties fell behind 21-10 after one quarter and still trailed 32-24 at the half.
But they outscored their hosts 25-12 in the third period and took the lead for good.
"We just made some bad decisions at the beginning of the game," Union coach Mark Stanley said. "But we made some baskets early in the second half, Joey Crivelli hit some threes and we were able to get our press working."
Garrison Bell finished with 21 points for the victors, while Crivelli added 18 on six 3-pointers.
