Fast start propels Ellwood girls past Hopewell

The Lady Wolverines were propelled by a hot start en route to a 51-30 section 2-AAA victory over visiting Hopewell.

Ellwood City Lincoln (4-8, 7-12) outscored the Lady Vikings 26-7 in the opening quarter and extended its lead over Hopewell (0-12, 0-17) to 27 points heading into the half.

Allie McKelvey paced Ellwood City with 19 points, while Breonna Streit connected on three 3-pointers and contributed 14 points.
