The Wolverines flirted with a road upset of the powerhouse Section 2-AAA Tigers.

Beaver Falls, ranked No. 3 in the WPIAL in Class AAA according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, is now 9-1, 15-2, while Ellwood City Lincoln slipped to 3-7, 7-10.

The teams finished with 25 field goals apiece, but the difference came at the free-throw line, where the Tigers were 14 of 20 and the Wolverines 8 of 9.

Rick Roth scored 18 points, Anthony Roth 15, Nick Ioanilli 13 and D.J. Barrett 11 for Ellwood City.

Josh Creach poured in 32 markers for Beaver Falls.
