Union outlasts Portersville Christian
Union (23) Vs. Portersville Christian (21)
Jan 20, 2016
The Lady Scots posted their second win of the season with a 23-21 victory over visiting nonsection opponent Portersville Christian.

Union (2-13) continued to struggle shooting from the field but relied heavily on a defensive effort that held the Lady Warriors to just two points in the second quarter and five points in the fourth.

“It’s gone on long enough, they realize that,” Union coach Larry Ondako said. “You usually can’t win games scoring 23 points. We struggled to put the ball in the hoop. We had to play good defense and hope for the best. Portersville is a young team, but we got a win.”

Skylar Thompson posted a game-high 15 points in the win.
