The Wildcats remained in the hunt for a Section 1-AA playoff berth with the 57-49 homecourt win.
Shenango (2-4, 3-12) is in fifth place in the section as it pursues one of the four available playoff berths. Mohawk slipped to 0-6, 0-13.
Matt McMillen had a double-double for the Wildcats with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Maxwell Reamer added 11 points and Vinny Turco and Brandon Bennett 10 markers apiece. apiece. Turco also had five assists. Dylan Strawhecker scored 13 for the Warriors.
Shenango led 30-16 at the half, but allowed Mohawk to climb back into it.
"We were up by 18 at one point, but for eight straight possessions near the end of the third quarter and part of the fourth, we eight missed a shot or had a turnover, while they went down and scored," Wildcats coach Bob McQuiston said.
"We have to take better care of the basketball, but I was pleased that we kept our composure even when they started getting close. We have some inexperience and as time goes on and the younger kids get more playing time under their belts, they're learning what to do in those situations."
Shenango made 10 of 14 three throws down the stretch, including 4 of 4 by Bennett, to ice the win.
