The Wilmington High boys basketball team put it all together Saturday night.
Spencer DeMedal netted 24 points and Jimmy Powers tossed in 23 to lift the Greyhounds to a 100-36 District 10, nonregion home win over Jamestown. The win snapped the hosts three-game losing streak.
Wilmington's previous season high came in an 89-55 decision over Shenango. The Greyhounds (5-6) came in averaging 56.7 markers a matchup.
The Muskies dropped to 0-8.
"We don't take anyone lightly," Wilmington coach Mike Jeckavitch said. "It felt good to get over that hump a little bit.
"I thought we shot the ball really well. We got some transition buckets in the second quarter."
The Greyhounds held a 21-12 lead after one quarter before outscoring Jamestown 28-5 in the second stanza to forge a 49-17 buffer at the break.
DeMedal also delivered 10 rebounds, five steals and five assists. He netted 10 of his tallies in the second quarter and 16 in the opening half.
Powers provided eight steals. He registered nine points in each of the first two periods.
"We expect them to be the best players every night," Jeckavitch said of DeMedal and Powers. "If one is struggling, then the other will pick the other up.
"When they're both on we're a pretty good basketball team."
Reese Bender netted 10 points with four steals for the winners. Colton Marett collected seven rebounds to go with his six markers, while Cameron Marett handed out six assists along with his two tallies.
The Greyhounds were 43 of 83 from the floor. They turned the ball over just seven times, while the Muskies turned the ball over 38 times.
"We're hoping we can continue to shoot the ball well," Jeckavitch said. "If we can shoot well we'll have a chance to win any game we play."
