Buchowski leads Wilmington girls

Wilmington’s Brooke Buchowski came off the bench to score a team-high 13 points in a nonregion win over Hickory.
Buchowski netted all of her points in the second half. She added seven rebounds and five assists as well.
“I’m really happy with the win,” Lady Greyhounds coach Brian Turk said. “We played a good triple-A squad and got some valuable experience, too.”
Kara Kendall, Leah Day and Molly Zimmer followed with 10 points each for Wilmington (8-9). Kendall pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds and Day was next with 11.
The Lady Greyhounds were 32 of 47 from the foul line.
“We were the fortunate ones to get to the line 47 times,” Turk said. “We definitely benefited from that.”
Kelsey Trosch paced all scorers with 17 points for the Hornettes.
