The Shenango High boys basketball team is on the board.

The Wildcats picked up their first victory of the season, a 55-31 rout of Sharpsville, in the opening round of the Shenango Holiday Tournament on Monday night.

Shenango (1-9) takes on Sharon at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the final game of the round-robin tournament.

The Wildcats led from start to finish in what coach Bob McQuiston called a game in which they put it all together.

"We finally got that monkey off our back," he said. "The kids have been battling and finally it came together.

"Everybody got after it tonight. We played smart on defense, rotated the ball well and ran the floor well. These kids have been working so hard at practice, so this was well-deserved."

Maxwell Reamer led Shenango with 10 points and Vinny Turco added nine. Ryan Conner had eight rebounds.

The Wildcats led 15-4 after one quarter and 30-13 at the half.
