Laurel too much for New Brighton
Laurel (45) Vs. New Brighton (28)
Dec 17, 2015
The Lady Spartans broke a three-game losing streak with a dominant 45-28 Section 1-AA road victory against New Brighton.

Laurel (1-2, 3-4) saw 10 of its 12 players score, led by Caroline Gibson's 14-point effort. Diana Pontius added eight points and Janna Conrad posted seven.

It's a section win on the road, we'll take it," Laurel coach Jessica Shevitz said. "They only had six girls play tonight, we had some starters that this was an opportunity to get them some rest. We're nursing some wounds and we let some younger girls out on the floor and they played well. When you have 10 girls putting up points, it's good for everyone. It was a good bounce back game and we can move forward from there."

The Lady Lions, who only played six players, were held to just five first-quarter points and were on the wrong end of a 13-4 advantage in the final eight minutes.
