New Castle trailed just 29-24 at the break, but was outscored 45-19 in the second half.
"I thought we came out of the gate and played really well," said first-year New Castle coach Maria Joseph. "They got to the line a little bit in the second half.
"We played a good 16 minutes. But we want to be able to play 32 minutes of basketball every night. We want to keep pushing forward and getting better."
Kayla Harvey paced the Lady 'Canes (1-1, 1-4) with 17 points and 10
rebounds, while Jaidyn Eggleston added 12 markers.
"Harvey shot the ball really well and she attacked the hoop," Joseph said. "She was getting after it; it's what we want her to do every night.
"The girls were getting the ball to her. This was one of her better games."
Sydney Barney paced Beaver ( 2-0, 3-2) with 23 points.
