Laurel suffers first loss of season
Laurel (53) Vs. Lincoln Park (72)
Dec 11, 2015
The previously unbeaten Laurel Spartans held their own for a time, but Lincoln Park pulled away down the stretch for a 72-53 win last night.

Scott Siddall and Mason Mraz sparked Laurel (0-1, 3-1) with 17 points apiece. Mraz also had 10 rebounds and four assists.

Nelly Cummings paced Lincoln Park (1-0, 3-0) with 22 points and Anthony Johnson added 20.

Laurel trailed just 50-44 after three quarters after pulling to within 33-32 early in the third.

“We were right there,” Laurel coach Ken Locke said. “The big free throw disparity (the Spartans made 9 of 13, Lincoln Park 22 of 29) didn’t help, but bottom line was we needed to make a few more plays.”
