The Ellwood City Lady Wolverines couldn't stop a second-quarter surge against host Ambridge in a Section 2-AAA meeting. Ellwood came up on the short end of a 55-44 verdict
The Lady Bridgers scored 21 points in the second quarter and jumped out to a 35-21 lead at the halftime break. Ellwood City (0-1, 2-3) dominated the fourth quarter, outscoring Ambridge 17-4, but it turned out to be too little, too late.
Karington Ketterer led the Lady Wolverines with 18 points.
