The host Union Lady Scots were an extra period away from earning their first victory before New Brighton walked away with the 41-37 nonsection win.
Union (0-4) held a three-point advantage heading into the final eight minutes and were outscored 6-2 in the extra set.
Abbey Kerr led the way for the Lady Scots with 13 points, while Skylar Thompson added 11.
