Scotties fall to Riverside
Riverside (69) Vs. Union (50)
Feb 10, 2015
The Scotties couldn’t secure a win last night.

But, more importantly, Union came out healthy heading into the playoffs after a 69-50 nonsection loss to Riverside.

“We came out playing straight man, we didn’t do anything special,” Union coach Mark Stanley said. “If we win or lose, it’s water over the dam. We got out of it healthy, it’s time to move on.”

The WPIAL will release the boys and girls playoff pairings tonight.

Union (11-10) faced a double-digit deficit after the first quarter and couldn’t put a dent in Riverside’s lead.

Anthony Rush led the Scotties with 12 points, while Zach Gould paced the Panthers (13-9) with 22 points.

“Riverside is a big, strong team,” Union coach Mark Stanley said. “We could possibly face someone like them in the playoffs.”
