The Lady Wildcats kept their playoff hopes alive with an easy Section 1-AA home win over New Brighton.

Shenango (4-4, 8-6) moved into sole possession of the fourth and final playoff berth in the section with four league games left to play. The Lady Wildcats are a game ahead of Beaver Falls.

“This was a nice win coming off a loss against Riverside,” Lady Wildcats coach Brian Turk said. “We needed it to stay in the hunt. We came out wanting to play and I was excited about that.”

Angelina Sibeto paced Shenango with 15 points, eight rebounds, six assists and three steals. Carolyn Peterson provided 13 markers. Ashleigh Presnar handed out six assists to go with her four points.

“All the girls did real well,” Turk said. “We took care of the ball really well and penetrated real well.”

Libby Thomas tallied six points to lead the Lady Lions (0-7, 1-13).
