Ellwood girls fall to Ambridge

The Lady Wolverines couldn’t keep pace in the second quarter in dropping a Section 2-AAA home matchup to the Lady Bridgers.

Ambridge outscored Ellwood City Lincoln, 18-8, in the second stanza to claim a 34-19 buffer at the break.

Bailey McKinney notched 18 points, six rebounds and three assists to lead the Lady Wolverines (2-5, 6-8). Emily Brown chipped in with 10 markers and three boards. Allie McKelvey notched a game-best 12 rebounds to go with her six points and four steals for Ellwood City.

Kara Haslett collected a team-high 17 points for the Lady Bridgers (6-1, 13-3).
