Union girls victorious
Union (46) Vs. Northgate (32)
Jan 14, 2015
The shots started falling for the Union girls against host Northgate in a nonsection win.
The Lady Scots (2-11) bounced back from a three-game losing streak and took a game that Union coach Larry Ondako said was one that was there for the taking.
“We just played a pretty good game,” Ondako said. “We made some shots instead of layups. They struggled, they didn’t have many kids, so we played a solid game. We just beat a team that we should have.”
Tyanna Harris led all scorers with 20 points. Sarah Seamans totaled 12 points and Skylar Thompson added 10.
“That’s certainly her best game,” Ondako said of Harris. “She shot the ball, made some plays. She got behind the defense quite a bit, getting through the traps. Skylar got us started and Ty had them all throughout the first three quarters. She had already done enough damage for us.”
Queenisa Gilbert paced Northgate (2-13) with eight points.
