Mohawk’s rally fell short in a 59-57 nonsection home loss to Rochester last night.

Mohawk (1-9) trailed 12-1 after the first quarter before cutting it to 22-21 at the break. The Warriors were down 45-35 going to the fourth.

“We just shot ourselves in the foot,” Warriors coach Rob Fadden said. “We turned it over at least eight times in the first quarter.

“We’ve been struggling quite a bit, but we put together two good quarters. We took care of the ball a little bit better in the second quarter.”

Ricky Malutic netted a game-high 26 points for Mohawk and Zach Shasteen chipped in with 15.
