Dec 30, 2014
The Spartans woke up in the second half, outscoring Lowellville 46-25 in the final 16 minutes of Laurel’s victory.
Scott Siddall paced the Spartans (5-3) with 30 points, while Noah Wertz and Jacob Wilson added 15 each. Wilson totaled seven steals and six rebounds and Mason Mraz totaled 12 points.
“He stepped up for us,” Laurel coach Ken Locke said of Siddall. “We were in a ton of foul trouble, it may of been our worst half of the year. I had to sit some guys because of the foul trouble.
The Rockets connected on 13 of their 15 attempts from the free-throw line in the first half, while Laurel attempted only four. Lowellville led 43-36 after the first half.
“That was a difference but we were able to get out of the half,” Locke said. “We started playing the way we’re capable of out of the break.”
