Lady ’Hounds win thriller
Wilmington (37) Vs. Reynolds (36)
Dec 24, 2014
Lauren Frederick split a pair of foul shots with five seconds left to lift the Lady Greyhounds to a nonregion road win over Reynolds.

The Lady Raiders snared the rebound off Frederick’s second freebie and fired a desperation 40-foot heave that was off the mark at the final horn.

“Any time you can go on the road and get a win is nice,” said first-year Wilmington coach Matt Fabian. “That was huge for Frederick to hit that foul shot. She’s a good shooter.”

The Lady Greyhounds (3-5) trailed 15-7 in the second quarter before cutting the deficit to 15-14 at the break. Wilmington then took a nine-point lead in the third period before Reynolds rallied.

“We got into foul trouble early,” Fabian said. “I told the girls we need to weather the storm and we did. We did a nice job of regrouping.”

Hannah Drake delivered 19 points for the Lady Greyhounds and Jenna Peoples provided seven markers and seven rebounds.
