A 22-10 second quarter was too much to overcome as Mohawk fell to Riverside, 73-48, in a Section 1-AA meeting last night.

Zach Shasteen paced the Warriors (0-5) with 16 points and a 3-pointer, while Ricky Malutic followed with 13 points.

Mohawk had trouble containing Zach Gould, who scored a game-high 22 points while connecting on three shots from beyond the arc. Logan Sheridan contributed 16 points and Lance Fischer added 11 points for the Vikings.

The Warriors kept pace with Riverside after the first eight minutes, trailing 16-15. The Panthers would go on to win the next three quarters by 12 points, five and seven, respectively.
