The Lady Wolverines took charge in the second quarter en route to an easy win over the Lady Rams in the consolation of the South Side Beaver Tournament.

Ellwood City (1-1) led 7-6 after the first quarter before pushing the buffer to 29-14 at the half.

“After a slow first quarter, the girls finally got into a rhythm,” Lady Wolverines coach Jolene Servick said. “Our press forced them into turnovers which we capitalized on.”

Bailey McKinney and Karington Ketterer tossed in 12 points apiece for Ellwood City. McKinney handed out five assists, while Ketterer added five steals. Allie McKelvey notched eight rebounds, eight steals and four assists to go with her six markers.

Lex Dhayer notched a team-high seven points for the Lady Rams (0-2).
